TO avoid playing against those with spell cards, just exit the game and find one that don’t use spell cards. Your free entry won’t disappear if you exit the game before tossing your first bird. Rovio encourages people to buy/use spell cards, how else will they earn their keep? So I doubt they’ll remove that feature.
